How do "ordinary" people in need get used by organizations with politically motivated agendas?

Radical far right movements disguised as humanitarian and human rights organizations helping Serbs in Kosovo have started multiplying, and nationalists from across Europe have started arriving in Serbia.

In an interview with a white supremacist I had last year, I was told that his volunteers go to Serbia and Kosovo "to support one of the few strongholds of white European civilization in resistance against Muslims and Western aggressors."

This is an example of how collective trauma and humanitarian need get exploited for political purposes.
